Product Knowledge:

Part of my success in this industry is also your success. I use and provide the best products available for your hair.  I can only cut and color your hair with the best available products, the maintenance is up to you.  Great care can make styling easier and better looking in between salon visits.

All of the products I recommend have the gentlest of the surfactants to protect hair from damage and keep color fresh longer.

The difference in professional hair care and chain store bought products are the ingredients and the amount of them, as well as the  amount and type of advertising.  Because professional products are referred by stylists, there is less to no advertising.  What goes in the bottle is more important to us than packaging and advertising.

Market products like Pantene are popular, but are very bad for your hair in my opinion. Pantene leaves heavy deposits of a silicone like substance on your hair which will eventually cause static and buildup. In addition, these cleansers are stronger and will pull the color molecules right out of the hair.  Not so bad if your hair is virgin, real bad if you just spent money on a good hair color!

As a reminder I do have on hand at all times, the top of the line professional hair care products that will maintain your color & perm services. The professional products I have will help maintain your color services in between visits. This provides long lasting results you will be happy with.

Now for the best news! I also guarantee my products. If you try something that does not work  then  you just bring it back for exchange or refund! Every ones hair reacts differently to things and sometimes it takes more than one try to find the perfect match.

Better Color!

Sunday, February 01, 2009

Would you perm your hair every 4-6 weeks?   Did you know that pulling permanent alkaline color through the ends of already-tinted hair, even for only 5 minutes, is swelling the cuticle like a perm would?  This is unecessary as Goldwell makes a glaze that will freshen any color without the extra damage of permanent color.

Color Glazing with Goldwell's Colorance will eliminate this excess swelling to your hair. Only using Topchic (Goldwell's permanent alkaline hair color) on the new growth and then applying the matching and conditioning Colorance shade on the mid-shaft to ends will make hair healthier and add more shine.

Booking Appointments

Many clients are concerned about disturbing me when they call. Let me reassure you that I am never disturbed. I turn my phone off and let it go to voice mail if I do not wish to answer it. Cell phones can be a saving grace or a demise depending on how they are treated. It works out well that my assistant and I can personally take care of my clients. There is no need for misunderstandings at the front desk and if last minute changes need to be made, it is easy. If it is my day off, lunch break or I am busy, I will let the phone go to voice mail. As soon as possible, my client will receive a call back. Anytime of the day or night my phone is accessible. Just leave a message. I apologize for the occasional disconnection or breaking up in conversation. I know this is annoying. While having a cell phone is great it is not perfect.
